Taylor T5 Acoustic Electric Guitar in Cheery Burst with Roland Pickup

This is the Taylor T5 Acoustic Electric Guitar. Although Taylor is primarily known for acoustic instruments I was curious about the T5 and bought one shortly after they came out. This one has a beautiful flamed maple top finished in the best Cherry Burst color I have seen in a while.

The T5 has both an acoustic pickup and an electric pickup with a 5 position selector switch. It does have good acoustic tone unplugged but wait until you plug it in. This instrument is two guitars in one allowing you to seamlessly switch from acoustic to electric and back again, great for performing.

I have to admit I have dozens of great acoustic guitars so why did I buy this one? The truth be known, I was shopping for a good jazz guitar in a local mega music store and not finding what I wanted. Almost ready to leave I looked at the acoustics and played the T5 plugged in an acoustic amp. This thing played jazz better than a lot of dedicated jazz guitars. Dave Brubeck and George Benson started flowing out of this thing. I then tried it connected to a Line 6 POD and was amazed. I took it home and added the Midi pickup and use it for my studio work.
