Breedlove Master Class C12 in Pillow Maple with Master Class Flamed Koa Bindings

There is a classic Breedlove C1 in Pillow Maple with Koa bindings, that has a long history here at Imagine Guitars. It is featured on the site as many of you know, but I have been reluctant to let go of it although we have received many inquiries regarding it.

My attraction to this gorgeous guitar prompted us to re-create it, so we challenged the craftsmen at Breedlove to produce an updated version of the C1 with the finest materials. The results are this wonderfully C12 in Sitka and Pillow Maple. When I first opened the case I thought that it looked very much like the older C1, but it was not until I compared them side by side in the light that I realized that the Pillow Maple of the newer C12 was much more defined if that is possible. Then I noticed the Flamed Koa bindings were absolutely luminescent with color and fire, much more pronounced that the older instrument.

We added Sea Leaves inlay to the Ebony fret board and Abalone top purling which the older C1 did not have, but am I ever glad we did. Wow! It has the sharp cutaway body of the C1 and the solid Maple neck with Gold Gotoh tuners but with the addition of ebony tuner buttons this time. My classic C1 had been tuned up over the years with the frets dressed and strings lowered for great action all up and down the neck. To my amazement and joy this new C12 has the same fast and easy to play set up right out of the box.

Congratulations to Breedlove for exceeding my expectations and re-creating a Classic Favorite that has set a new standard for refinement and complicated things for me. Please let us know what you think.
