Breedlove now extends their successful Mark Series Electric Guitar line with the new Mark II model. This is an off set double cutaway body with a Stinger tail available with a myriad of custom wood combinations and colors. I love the shape and feel of this instrument. It looks and feels aggressive like a fine sports car.
The Mark II will be priced below the Mark I models but as this particular guitar demonstrates they can still be customized with your imagination as their only limitation. Since the Mark II was formally introduced at 2008’s NAMM show.
This guitar has a figured Redwood Burl top with a Burst finish on a Mahogany body. The body is an aggressive double cutaway design with off set horns and a stinger tail. The body is chambered with a gloss finish. The Redwood Burled top and Mahogany body are left unbound and look gorgeous as they transition seamlessly.
The unique body shape is then carved around the edges of the top and back for comfort and a further compliment to the double cut away shape as it transitions to the stinger tail. This carve is really accentuated with what Breedlove calls their “Wicked” Burst treatment available only on some Mark II models.
The neck is solid Mahogany with an Ebony fret board decorated with an off set dot inlay and equipped with Chrome and Black Gotoh 510 tuners. The standard Mark II model will have a list price below the Mark I models but as you can tell there is nothing standard about this particular guitar.
If you want a uniquely beautiful looking and sweet sounding guitar that is the perfect instrument for recording and playing live, your search is over.
