Breedlove C25 is a particularly sweet Breedlove, with the renowned Schertler
BLUESTiCK pickup installed and ready to go.This C25 sports a responsive Engelmann
Spruce top with East Indian Rosewood back and sides. The binding on neck and
body is Ivoroid, and the Ebony fretboard has the Breedlove Sea Leaves inlay
in Mother of Pearl. As you can see from the pictures, this guitar is very
crisp in appearance - very classy. But for the owner of this guitar, the good
looks won't be the reason this guitar gets played as much as it will. It's
the tone and playability that kick this instrument over the top. Very easy
to play, with excellent action, this is a responsive guitar with a tone that
is complex for Spruce, but not unusual for Engelmann.
This C25 comes with a Schertler BLUESTiCK pickup installed. In Schertler's
own words, it's "a patented active transducer that places the miniaturized
equivalent of a studio-grade condenser microphone under your guitar’s
saddle." I have to say I'm quite enamored with the system - it sounded
great in this guitar - very rich, and very natural, which is interesting given
that it's just a single-source undersaddle device. I've never found a piezo
that did the job alone, and have always used mics or mags in combination with
the piezo. The Bluestick is not a piezo, and does not sound like one. It has
a small internal Class A preamp powered by 1,000 hour lithium batteries, and
a small wheel at the soundhole that gives you control over volume. Find out
more and seek more opinions in your favorite newsgroup, but my report is a
very positive one.
Mint condition - a superb instrument all around. Breedlove's best archtop
hardshell case is included.
