I'm just going to come out and say it... this C10 is one sexy little number.
Very delicate in appearance and in tone, this Breedlove C10 is a terrific
guitar for any fingerstyler or plectrum player. German Spruce on top always
makes for a guitar that responds very well to everything from light finger
playing to a meaty pick strike, and the Fiddleback Maple back and sides give
the guitar a strong, well-defined tone. A neck of Mahogany nicely warms up
the sound and feel of this guitar.
The Maple back is Fiddleback most of the way, with a tight curl in the upper
bouts, but as you'll see, it opens up a bit further down, almost creating
a reverse chevron... and then it tightens up again toward the tail block.
This guitar sits really comfortably in the lap, and the non-cutaway/shallow
body combination give it a tight, responsive tone and feel. Just lovely!
This instrument is another showroom model, from a small batch that came back
to Breedlove after a dealer overextended himself. So for a few months, it
has hung on a wall, and brought down occasionally to be played by prospective
customers. Apparently, all of these customers were wearing beltless velour
jumpsuits and white cotton gloves, as I cannot find a single mark or scratch
anywhere on this exceptional instrument.
