Taylor XXX-BE 30th Anniversary Grand Concert, Limited Edition #124/150, Engelmann Spruce & Brazilian Rosewood
Taylor's 30th Anniversary fell in the year 2004, and to commemorate this milestone, the factory created 30th anniversary Taylor guitars. There were five different models, each made with a different wood set. This guitar is the undisputed zenith of that series. A top of beautiful Engelmann spruce is paired with stunning Brazilian Rosewood. This particular instrument was made for a very good friend of the factory, and as a result, the Brazilian used on this guitar was hand picked from the stock normally reserved for "Private Selection" guitars. It is certainly some of the most stunning Brazilian Rosewood I've seen Taylor use.

Taylor released only 250 of each of the 30th Anniversary models, with the sole exception of the XXX-BE, of which only 150 were made. The XXX-BE has the same base feature set as the other models, but also has upgraded appointments such as the abalone/paua shell purfling found on the top, sides, and back of the body, as seen on the Presentation Series. The XXX-BE is the only guitar of the series to have that much shell trim. And again, this is the only 30th anniversary with hand selected wood - Curly Brazilian, even! You can find out more about the XXX-BE at the following link:

The introduction of the XXX series marked Taylor’s first break with a long tradition of instruments with 25.5" scale length - these guitars all have a 24.9"scale. It's not a novel idea, of course, but this change in combination with the new grand concert re-voicing produces a guitar with a full, rich tone, and a very playable instrument at that. If you like the Taylor sound and prefer a shorter scale for tighter bass response and playability, then this guitar would be an excellent choice!

This guitar was bought to collect, and literally has less than 15 minutes on it. The original/current owner actually has two of these, made from the same piece of gorgeous quartersawn Brazilian Rosewood. As part of his effort to reduce the size of his collection, he's offering one of the two for sale.only reason it’s for sale is the owner got a second identical one.

I think I'll leave the last words to Taylor, as they are particularly apt... "Our top of the line model features the finest Brazilian Rosewood. Its innovative re-voicing delivers gloriously complex overtones and rich, crisp resonance to complement its lovely variegated grain. Paired with the mature overtones of an Englemann spruce top, this stunning guitar will inspire the most discriminating musician".

Includes original Taylor luggage-style hardshell case. Mint condition, looks completely untouched.
